Los Angeles, March 5: After her successful TV series, a No. 1 movie and three top albums, Miley Cyrus has ‘Miles to Go’. That’s the title of Cyrus’ memoir, in which she insists that she grew up like a commoner, facing high school bullies and dealing with a broken heart. Picture: Get original file (15KB) Full Article: Through print, Cyrus says she hopes her fans will see "that I'm a real person just like them". "Most of the time you see me smiling — I mean that's how I got my name! — but that's not what it's all about. Everyone goes through hardships and heartbreaks," she says. Memoir of the 16-year-old Hannah Montana star carries a chilling account of her pre-teen encounter with bullies, who did everything from stealing her books to locking her in the school bathroom. "These were big, tough girls," Miley recalls of her school days in Tennessee. "I was scrawny and short. They were fully capable of doing me bodily harm." Cyrus faced huge antagonism in school as people had almost formed an “Anti-Miley club”. Also, her peers teased Cyrus endlessly about her father, Billy Ray, calling him a “one-hit wonder”. They tried to pull her down by saying that she would never amount to anything, “just like him”. Looking back, "sometimes I wish I could get an apology (from the mean girls), but to be honest I don't need one," she says. "I moved on and I believe they moved on as well. It helped make me the person I am today." In the book, Cyrus also mentions about her first love, whom she refers to as Prince Charming (but we know its Nick Jonas), her “Hannah Montana” co-stars and her family. "My family is a huge part of this book," she says. "They were involved in the process and we talked a lot about what I was going to write about." The book may also interest the fans of Jonas Brothers as Cyrus talks about her breakup with Nick Jonas. When asked why she wants to reveal so many unpleasant experiences to the world, Cyrus said, "I want my fans to feel closer to me." And if that’s the intention, Miley Cyrus has probably taken the right step. People actually tend to have more affection towards celebrities who have emerged from situations similar to their own. ‘Miley Cyrus: Miles to Go’ will hit the newsstands on Friday.
