NHL: Dallas 4, Calgary 3 (SO)

Dallas -- Loui Eriksson scored the only goal of the shootout Wednesday, lifting the Dallas Stars to a 4-3 victory over Calgary.

The Flames suffered their eighth straight setback, their longest losing streak in 11 years. Dallas, which has struggled for much of the season, moved within two points of a tie for the eighth and final playoff position in the Western Conference.

Eriksson put a low backhand shot between the pads of Miikka Kiprusoff in the third round of the shootout. Alex Auld then stopped a wrist shot by Jarome Iginla to clinch the win.

Dallas faced a 3-1 deficit with time running out in the second period but James Neal tipped in a shot with 24 seconds remaining to bring the Stars within one.

Brad Richards tied it on the power play 7:35 into the third. Auld made 23 saves to get the win and Kiprusoff stopped 33 shots.
