Maxim, an International men’s magazine, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its annual ”Hot 100” list, which counts down the sexiest stars and celebrities in the entertainment industry.
Wilde sizzles on the List
Wilde, who is married to an Italian/American documentary filmmaker, photographer and flamenco guitar player Tao Ruspoli, is No. 1 on Maxim's 2009 Hot 100 list. Despite her wild side has been hidden behind lab coats, Wilde topped this year’s chart.
"I'm considered sexy even though I'm wearing a lab coat every day and seen as a doctor on TV," Wilde says. "That really says something. Playing someone who is not defined by her looks and being considered hot, that really makes me feel good."
The British actress has reached at the top of the list after beating Transformers star Megan Fox and Titanic star Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend Bar Refaeli.
“Olivia Wilde has been the sexiest woman on television since she heated up 'The OC' five years ago," said Maxim editor Joe Levy. "She's smart, she's beautiful, and she has dual citizenship in the US and Ireland — what more can a man ask for?"
The list is featured in the June issue, and is out this week.
Who made the surprising entry in the list is first lady Michelle Obama. She "Her accomplishments, her fashion sense, her triceps" helped her make the cut, Levy says. "We merely want to acknowledge that the overall package is one of remarkable beauty, intelligence and talent."
