Australian finance, insurance, and banking corporation, Suncorp-Metway Ltd (Suncorp) and the insurer Promina Group Ltd (Promina) have announced a Merger Implementation Agreement (MIA) through which it is propounded that Suncorp will takeover all of Promina’s ordinary shares for roughly A$7.9 billion.

Thailand on Thursday officially raised the curtain of its much anticipated new international airport, with all commercial airlines transferring operations to the airy and expensive new hub. After numerous hiccups, the airport was opened for limited service on 15 September 2006, and opened for all commercial flights today, after the project was originally conceived in 1960.
