Los Angeles, March 18: Hollywood actress Christina Ricci and comedian Owen Benjamin are engaged to be married, according to her publicist who confirmed this happy news to People.com.
According to the publicist, the U.S. film actress Ricci is engaged to her actor lover Benjamin after nearly five months of dating him. However, he didn’t reveal the exact date of their engagement.
Though the rep confirmed that Owen, who stands at a whopping 6-foot-6, and the 29-year-old Ricci, who is just 5-foot-1, would be tying the knot, he did not say when and where. The couple have been dating since November last.
It is also reported that Benjamin, who made his feature film acting debut with the 2008 big-screen comedy "The House Bunny", held a private engagement party in Palihouse in West Hollywood Saturday, March 14.
Back in 2007, Ricci had expressed her desire to settle down. "I just want to be married, or just engaged," she told Tatler magazine at the time. "Basically, I just want a ring. And the tax break."
The couple met on the set of their yet-to-be-released comedy film “All's Faire In Love” last year and started dating. The pair went public with their relationship in October.
Most recently, former child star Ricci and her new fiancé Benjamin were seen together last week at the Nobu West Hollywood's one-year anniversary party.
Before dating Benjamin, Ricci was romantically involved with Adam Goldberg from 2003 until 2006, and then dated Speed Racer costar Kick Gurry in 2007.
Born on Feb 12, 1980 in Santa Monica, California, Christina Ricci is an Emmy-award nominated actress who made her movie debut in Mermaids in 1990, with Cher and Winona Ryder and followed up with memorable performances as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993).
Ricci is one of the most celebrated actresses of her generation, as well as one of the few child stars to make a successful transition to teenage idol and adult actress. After making a splash as a child star in children's movies, she moved ahead to appear in mature performances, beginning with her role as the troubled, sexually curious Wendy Hood in Ang Lee's critically acclaimed The Ice Storm (1997, with Elijah Wood and Tobey Maguire).
Ricci subsequently appeared in films like “The Opposite of Sex” in 1998 and John Waters's “Pecker” in 1998. Her other films include 200 Cigarettes (1999), Sleepy Hollow (1999) and the story of serial killer Aileen Wuornos, Monster (2003).
Last year, she was seen playing Trixie, the female lead role in the The Wachowski Brothers' feature film adaptation of Speed Racer.
