‘Hannah Montana’ leads the ‘Kids’ Choice'

New York, February 7: Teen queen Miley Cyrus is the top contender at the 22nd annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, to be held in Los Angeles on Mar. 28.

Ahead of all others, the "Hannah Montana" star has grabbed three individual nominations this year. She has been nominated in the categories of favorite television actress, favorite female singer and favorite voice from an animated movie, for the canine adventure "Bolt".

Her famed Disney series "Hannah Montana" is in the running for favorite TV show.

Cyrus, 16, was also a favorite last year as she took home the awards for the favorite female singer and favorite TV actress.

Beyonce has been nominated twice for her song "Single Ladies" and in the category of favorite female singer.

Jim Carrey also bagged two nominations for the favorite male movie star (‘Yes Man’) and favorite voice from an animated movie (Horton, ‘Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!’).

Despite a recent suspension from USA Swimming for a controversial photo, Michal Phelps has been nominated for favorite male athlete.

"He was nominated by the kids for his athletic ability, and he will remain a nominee," said a Nickelodeon spokeswoman.

Other nominees include The Jonas Brothers, Linkin Park, Pussycat Dolls, Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway, Will Smith, Vanessa Hudgens, Reese Witherspoon, Chris Brown, Kid Rock, T-Pain, Rihanna, Selena Gomez and Tiger Woods.

The March 28 show will be aired live on the cable network from the Pauley Pavilion at the University of California.

The host for the evening will be Dwayne (the Rock) Johnson.

"Every spring I look forward to three things: the Easter Bunny, bass fishing with my bare hands and the brilliance of fluorescent green slime flying through the air at someone's face. That's why it's so cool for me to be hosting this year's Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards!” said Dwayne.

He added that that the event is special because it “honors kids by honoring their opinion.”
