New York, United States, January 5: British singer Cheryl Cole has revealed how she dealt with claims that her England football star husband Ashley Cole had a one night stand.
The Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge appears on the front cover of the February edition of the magazine, out this Thursday.
In a candid interview, Cheryl told fashion magazine that she has forgiven her footballer husband for cheating on her with a hairdresser because he is "young for his age."
In January last year, 22-year-old blonde hairdresser Aimee Walton claimed she had sex with the 28-year-old England and Chelsea defender after meeting him in a London club.
The revelation of Ashley’s sordid one-night stand with Aimee devastated the 25-year-old Girls Aloud star, leading her to seek divorce from her footballer husband. And the buzz was that for a long time Cheryl refused to wear her wedding ring.
But Cheryl, who tied the knot with sports star in July 2006, decided to take her husband back because she cannot bear to be apart from him any longer.
Describing his hubby’s single night-stand with another woman as “horrendous," Cheryl said: "Ashley's young and he's got a young mentality - for his age anyway."
"He's learning. He has a beautiful soul, he's a really nice guy and I'm not stupid, you know. I'm really not,” the singer told Vogue in the interview. "I know what I'm doing. I've had enough knocks in the past to know what the circumstances are, and I'm happy. If other people aren't, then that's their problem."
In the accompanying interview, the Newcastle-born star also describes her 2003 conviction for attacking a lavatory attendant in a nightclub and her struggle to control her weight.
"In the first year of Girls Aloud, I actually went up to a size 29. I remember being in Selfridges and taking these size 28s into the changing room and not being able to get them on and then getting on the scales and crying because I was nine and a half stone.
"Nine-and-a-half stone when I'm only 5ft 3in! Jennifer Aniston was doing something called the Atkins Diet at the time and I thought I'd give it a try."
Dressed in pink sequined trousers, Cheryl appears on the cover of February issue of the iconic fashion magazine.
Cheryl cole, 9.5 stone
I see where shes coming form when she says she cried when she weighed 9.5 stone. I would, im also 5ft3 and the average weight for that height is between 7.5 and 8 stone so i guess she must have been pretty big at 9.5 stone.
People always say shes too skinny, but she isnt AT ALL. But because she wears i dont know 6 inch heels?, it makes her seem much taller but you have to take into consideration her height!
God if shes too skinny i must be 2-D, cos i weigh just under 7.5 stone, i eat properly (3 meals a day) (Y) and i snack inbetween meals, i dont smoke or drink and do frequant exercise. If everyone did the same then no-one could say anyones too fat or too skinny, because everyone would lead a normal healthy life.
But then again the press will find something else to critisise!
