Saturday night out turns bloody for Jessica Simpson and her pal

A Saturday night out turned bloody for U.S. singer-actress Jessica Simpson and her best friend/ hairstylist Ken Paves, when a fight broke out between her entourage and one of the photographers outside a Los Angeles restaurant.

An altercation erupted late Saturday night when the 28-year-old singer was leaving Madeo's restaurant with the celebrity hairstylist Ken. As they exited the restaurant a flock of photographers swarmed the singer and when Ken, who was escorting Jess out of the restaurant, tried to stop them a crazy paparazzo struck him near his eye with a camera.

With blood running down his face, the two got into their waiting ride, and Paves was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where Jess accompanied her friend inside the building.

Meanwhile, a source who was present at the scene told People that the injury was an accident. "Everyone was pushing each other to get a picture of Jessica," People quoted the source as saying.

E! also quoted a witness as saying that "There were so many paparazzi waiting for Jessica and trying to get a picture of her that they all started pushing. Jessica was ducking down and Ken Paves and her other male friend were trying to cover her and that's when Ken was hit in the face with a camera."

"It seemed like Jessica's friend was just really frustrated because the photographers were overstepping their bounds and had just hit Ken in the head," another source told E!

Ken Paves is the renowned name in the world of hair and fashion. Graduated from a cosmetology school in St. Clair Shores, Ken studied hair design at Vidal Sassoon Academy and Toni & Guy Institute.

His hair designs have appeared in beauty, fashion and hair publications including Vogue, Elle, InStyle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, US Weekly, Celebrity Living, Life & Style Weekly and Star.

Ken is a celebrity spokesperson for Operation Smile Charity and has accompanied Jessica Simpson on International Trips on behalf of the charity.

He has worked with celebrities such as Eva Longoria, Carmen Electra, Céline Dion, Kim Cattrall, Christina Applegate, Heather Locklear, Jessica Alba, Avril Lavigne Brittany Murphy, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Biel along with others since the mid 1990s.
