Singer Lisa Marie Presley's Double Baby Joy

Lisa Marie Presley is a mom again. The U.S. recording artist and her hubby Michael Lockwood were blessed with the double baby joy, twin girls, on Tuesday, Oct. 7, Presley's publicist, Cindy Guagenti, confirmed Saturday.

The babies were delivered by cesarean section at approximately 2:46 p.m. and weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces (2.7 kg) and 5 pounds, 2 ounces (2.3 kg) respectively.

The publicist said both mother and daughters, whose names were not given, are “happy and healthy and resting at home."

The twins are the first children together for Presley, the 40-year-old daughter of late music great Elvis Presley, and her fourth husband Lockwood, 47.

"Lisa Marie is mom to four now! She's feeling good, a little tired too,” several media reports quoted a source as saying. "She is so happy and Michael is ecstatic. He's wanted to be a dad for so long. This is his dream come true."

As per the source, Lockwood was by Presley’s side the whole time. "There was no drama. The babies are healthy and beautiful," the source added. "Ben was seen pushing them down the hall in their cart and cooing to them."

The newborns are Presley’s third and fourth kids, and her first two with Lockwood. She also has two children, daughter Danielle Riley, 19, and son Benjamin Storm, 15, with ex-husband Danny Keough.

Apparently fed up with constant speculation, Presley finally in March decided to make known that she is expecting her third child. The singer was delighted about her baby bump but was offended by the media for what she described as “slanderous and degrading stories, horribly manipulated pictures and articles.”

At the time, Presley said, "Yes, I am swollen. And I am going to gain weight in a city where if you're not a minus size 0, you are fat."

After divorcing from Keough in 1994, she briefly married Michael Jackson and then actor Nicolas Cage. She married Lockwood, a guitarist and music producer, in Japan in January, 2006.

It is learnt that twins run in the actress’ family. Her father was a twin and her mother, Priscilla Presley, has younger brothers who are twins.

Presley is following the footsteps of her legend father, who passed away in 1977. She is working on her third album, and last year released a version of Elvis' ‘In the Ghetto.’
