Mark “all warm in the pants” At Comic-Can

Mark Wahlberg couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome. At the Comic Can convention the 37 year old actor was the center of attention of thousands of fans who started cheering him when he appeared with colleagues Mila Kunis and rapper Ludacris for the promotion of his new movie “Max Payne”.

Known also as Marky Mark, Wahlberg rose to fame with his 1991 debut as a rap musician with his band “Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. His movie career took off when he impressed critics with his work in movies like the “Basketball Diaries”, “The Perfect Storm” and “The Italian Job”. His role in the 2006 blockbuster “The Departed” earned him nominations for the Academy Award as well a Golden Globe nomination for best performance in a supporting role.

Max Payne slated for release on 17th October 2008, is based on a popular video game under the same name. Wahlberg is a DEA agent whose family is slain as a part of a conspiracy. Mila Kunis is an assassin out to avenge her sister’s death. The duo come together to solve a series of murders in New York City while they are being hunted by the police, the mob and a ruthless corporation.

Talking about the movie, the actor stated he was eager to play the character after he had read the script. He doubted the character as it was a popular video game. Outside of the "Tomb Raider" movies, video game adaptations typically yield limited success. Luckily, everything turned out just fine for the actor who really enjoyed playing the role.

Mark Wahlberg also took a moment to talk about his relationship with long time girlfriend Rhea Durham, with whom he has two children, Mike, 2, and Ella, aged 4. The veteran actor is expecting to become a father for the third time in his life and is also planning to get married and make a long term commitment he was not ready for until lately.

Mark quoted “once I took out the nightlife part of my life, you know going out from 10 to 3, 4, 5, 6 in the morning, there's enough time in the day to do all the stuff I'm doing and then some and get a good eight hours sleep." Mark spoke to the People magazine about the changes he went through in his life in order to spend more time with his family.
