A suspicious fire early Friday destroyed the Dix Hills home of rapper 50 cent, amidst a tiff between him and his former girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins. The 5,200-square-foot home was burnt to ashes within minutes of ignition of the powerful blaze.

Six people, including 50 cent's ex-girlfriend Tompkins and their 10-year-old son, Marquise were inside the house and were driven to the hospital after they suffered smoke inhalation. A firefighter also suffered a minor eye injury, officials said.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, and Tompkins were involved in an argument over the six-bedroom house, which the rapper bought in January 2007 for $2.4 million. Tompkins claims that Jackson had bought the house for her and their son. But Jackson insists the property to be his own.

A Suffolk housing court judge in April ordered Tompkins to be evicted.

Dix Hills Fire Chief Larry Feld was suspicious about the origin of the fire and investigators from the Suffolk County arson squad were called on the scene. The fire was reported at 4:59 a.m. and was extinguished about 45 minutes later, Feld said. The arson squad worked at the scene for about six hours after the blaze.

Curtis Jackson does not live in the home and was not present at the time.

"Informed this morning while filming a new motion picture on location in Louisiana, Curtis Jackson expressed deep concern over this fire at his property," a representative for the rapper said in a statement. "He is extremely thankful that everyone including his son, Marquise, escaped the burning house safely. He is confident that authorities will be conducting a thorough investigation of the incident and is eager to review their findings."

Although, Tompkins is being suspected for the fire, she in contrast blamed Jackson for causing it. "I know this came from 50 Cent," Tompkins said to reporters. "I know he did it."

According to Tompkins' lawyer, Paul Catsandonis, the rapper signed an agreement that would give Tompkins half of all his earnings as a hip-hop superstar. "Everything that's his is hers, everything that's hers is his. He memorialized in an e-mail that he intended to give her the house."
