Lorena Ochoa, who has moved into the No. 1 spot ahead of Annika Sorenstam, shot a 5-under 67 at the Upper Montclair Country Club to complete 36 holes in 9-under 135. That left her tied with Sarah Lee, who was the first- and second-round leader last week before finishing third at the Michelob Ultra Open. Lee also led this tournament after the first round and maintained a share of the top spot with a round of 69. Jane Park was alone in third at 137 after shooting a 68. Ochoa won this tournament a year ago when it was played in New York. After making three birdies and three bogeys on the front nine, she birdied five of the final eight holes. "I didn't start so good, but I am really happy with the way I finished," Ochoa said. Sherri Steinhauer, twice a winner of this tournament, shared fourth place at 139 with Young Jo, Juli Inkster and Brittany Lincicome. Copyright 2007 by United Press International. |
