Report: Keon Clark facing jail timeby MT Bureau - May 17, 2007 - 0 comments
Danville, Ill. -- Former NBA player Keon Clark faces up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to two felony charges and a misdemeanor. The Danville, Ill. native pleaded guilty to possessing drugs, driving under the influence, and not having a valid Illinois firearm owner's identification card Monday in Vermilion County (Ill.) Superior Court. The Champaign News-Gazette said the 32-year-old Clark accepted a plea agreement under which misdemeanor counts of driving with a suspended license and possession of cannabis were dismissed. The charges stem from a September 2005 traffic stop by Danville police. State's Attorney Frank Young said Clark's sentencing is scheduled for July 11. Danville police Officer Jane McFadden has testified that inside a local restaurant, Clark tripped over a mop bucket, his speech was slurred, he looked disheveled, and she thought he was under the influence. Later, she discovered that his drivers license was suspended. Copyright 2007 by United Press International. |
