" title="Lufthansa orders 15 Bombardier jets"/> Montreal -- German airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG has ordered 15 CRJ900 regional jets worth $584 million, Canadian aircraft maker Bombardier Inc. said Tuesday. The 90-seat aircraft will become part of Lufthansa's European regional fleet used for feeder flights, the airline said. The airline, Germany's largest, said it selected the CRJ900 aircraft in part because of its fuel efficiency, and low noise and emission levels. Lufthansa, of Cologne, Germany, has an option to buy an additional 15 planes from Bombardier's Aerospace division, Bombardier said. Tuesday's order increases to 109 the number of firm orders placed by Lufthansa and its regional partners for Bombardier CRJ aircraft. Copyright 2007 by United Press International. |
