SEGA announces "Condemned 2: Bloodshot" for Xbox 360 & PS3

SEGA of America, Inc. and SEGA Europe Ltd. on Thursday announced Condemned 2: Bloodshot, a sequel to the award-winning and critically-acclaimed horror investigation game, Condemned: Criminal Origins that originally appeared on Xbox 360.

Featuring all-new fighting mechanics and online multiplayer functionality, Condemned 2: Bloodshot is under development by Kirkland, Washington-based Monolith Productions, the developer of the original Condemned and the FPS Fear.

Condemned 2 is a first-person action thriller that will feature online multiplayer action and a new fighting mechanic as players use their detective skills to track down serial killers. The sequel will also introduce online multiplayer that Sega promises to be of the “brutal” variety immersing players in a world of psychological terror.

The new fighting system, which will be introduced to this sequel, features all kinds of new defensive and offensive combo chains as well as grapples and holds instead of the rather simple system in the original game. Gamers will also be able to use their forensic tools which will help them solve their crime puzzles.

In this next installment players will assume the role of Ethan Thomas, former Serial Crimes Unit investigator, who has been called back to duty to hunt his missing partner. Due to the disturbing events from his past which have left him a broken man, Ethan will be fighting his inner demons as well while investigating into the disappearance of his partner.

For his one-man investigation into a sinister conspiracy, the Serial Crimes Unit investigator Ethan will need to use anything and everything in the environment to survive as he unfolds the mysteries shrouding the city in darkness.

“Condemned 2: Bloodshot” will release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in early 2008.
