Pretty Woman Expecting Tot Number 3by Gunika Khurana - December 30, 2006 - 0 comments
Pretty woman Julia Roberts and cinematographer hubby Daniel Moder have got lucky the third time and a new member is soon to be added in their family. The news of Julia’s pregnancy surfaced in media on Friday and her spokeswoman Marcy Engelman confirmed it, revealing that the baby is due this summer. Roberts was also hooked up with Kiefer Sutherland, her co-star in ‘Flatliners’ in 1990. They had even announced plans for their wedding, but eventually broke up when Roberts discovered that Sutherland was having an affair with a striper named Amanda Rice. Roberts walked down the aisle with country singer Lyle Lovett, but the couple divorced after two years. She has also dated television actor Benjamin Bratt, ‘Friend’s’ star Matthew Perry, actor Daniel Day-Lewis and Liam Neeson. Julia met Daniel Moder in 2000 on the sets of her movie ‘The Mexican’. Daniel was married to Vera Steimberg Moder, but they eventually divorced. Roberts and Moder tied the knot on July 4, 2002, at her ranch in Taos, New Mexico. On November 28, 2004, they became proud parents of twins, daughter Hazel Patricia and son Phinnaeus Walter. Appearing on the CBS ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ in May, Roberts said her children "seem to really love each other. He's sort of very boyish and masculine. He has red hair and big green eyes. And she's very girlish and has very blonde hair and blue eyes. He likes blueberries. She likes her daddy." Born as Julie Fiona Roberts, on October 28, 1967, she embarked on the journey of stardom as a supporting actor in her early teens. She garnered her first Oscar nomination for the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for the movie ‘Steel Magnolias’. Her career sprang up in late 1990’s with the release of her romantic comedy ‘Pretty Woman’, opposite Richard Gere. Her role in pretty woman bagged her Oscar nomination for the ‘Best Actress’. Her next triumphant project was ‘Sleeping with the Enemy’ (1990), which has become quite a classic. Other esteemed roles during the 1990s were in movies like ‘The Pelican Brief’ (1996), with Denzel Washington, ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ (1997), as well as 1999’s ‘Notting Hill’, with Hugh Grant. After this, Roberts became the highest paid actress in the world, topping the ‘Hollywood Reporter's’ annual power list of top-earning female stars for four successive years (2002-2005). She finally won an Oscar in 2001 for her critically acclaimed role in the movie ‘Erin Brockovich’. Recently, she made her Broadway debut as Nan in ‘Three Days of Rain’ opposite Bradley Cooper and Paul Rudd, at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. As of January 2006, Roberts' films have grossed 2.09 billion dollars at the American Box Office making her the biggest female movie star in history. |
