The listing service, FMLS, said the $7.6 million property sale was completed late last month, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday. The buyer's name wasn't revealed.
Perry is expected to have the 32,000-square-foot mansion on the property torn down to make way for a new house, but the newspaper said Perry's publicist did not respond to e-mails for comment.
The actor, writer, director and producer reportedly loved the estate's gardens and location along the Chattahoochee River.
"There is a buzz around town," Mike Bodker, mayor of Johns Creek, told the Journal-Constitution. "I've not officially heard, but if it is true, I'm sure the citizens of Johns Creek will gladly and openly welcome Mr. Perry."
