NBA: New Orleans 98, Portland 97

Portland -- Chris Paul's jumper with 3.8 seconds left Monday capped a fourth-quarter New Orleans comeback and the Hornets beat Portland 98-97.

Paul finished with 24 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds and five steals for the Hornets, who made up a nine-point deficit and closed the game with a 10-1 run for their third win in their last four games.

Marcus Thornton scored 19, David West had 18 points and seven rebounds, and Emeka Okafor had 14 points and nine rebounds for New Orleans.

LaMarcus Aldridge and Juwan Howard scored 16 points each for the Trail Blazers, who were playing without Brandon Roy for a third straight game. Roy is out with a right hamstring injury.
