COL FB: California 24, Arizona 16

Berkeley, Calif. -- Shane Vereen rushed for 159 yards with one touchdown Saturday leading California to a 24-16 win over 19th-ranked Arizona.

Vereen, subbing for the injured Jahvid Best (concussion), secured Cal's victory with a 61-yard scoring run with 1:21 left in the fourth-quarter, which thwarted Arizona's attempted comeback.

Kevin Riley completed 13-of-22 passes for 181 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Wide receivers Marvin Jones and Verran Tucker combined for 123 receiving yards.

Giorgio Tavecchio kicked four field goals, while tight end Skylar Curran caught a touchdown pass for the Bears (7-3, 4-3 Pac-10), who have won four of five.

Arizona's Nick Foles completed 24-of-41 attempts for 201 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Keola Antolin had 78 rushing yards with one touchdown, and 14 yards receiving, while Joseph Perkins and Cam Nelson made one interception apiece for the Wildcats (6-3, 4-2), whose three-game winning streak ended.
