Nadal-Gonzalez U.S. Open match rained out

New York -- The scheduled completion of the match between Rafael Nadal and Fernando Gonzalez at the U.S. Open was postponed Friday by New York's day-long rains.

The third and 11th seeds, respectively, were 7-6 (7-4), 6-6 (3-2) with Nadal leading in the second set Thursday night when their men's quarterfinal was suspended because of inclement weather.

Friday, they never went to the court at Ashe Stadium because of the wet and windy conditions at the Billie Jean King USTA National Tennis Center.

The delay means the men's final, originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon, has been moved to Monday for a second straight year. Officials said Sunday's tickets will be honored.
