O'Neill hooded sweatshirts recalled

Washington -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of La Jolla hooded sweatshirts due to a strangulation hazard.

The sweatshirts, imported from China by La Jolla Sport USA, Inc. of Irvine, Calif., include drawstrings that pose a risk to children, the commission said in a statement.

About 2,300 sweatshirts were sold nationwide between June 2009 and August 2009 for about $65 each.

The recalled sweatshirts are hooded, fleece garments with style names "Love Goes" and "Up and Under." They were sold in children's sizes under the brand name O'Neill.

Consumers were advised to remove the drawstrings and return the garment to the retailer for a full refund.

Consumers can call 800-662-7873 for information.
