He explained this on his Google Plus Profile just recently but his absence had given the jitters to the shareholders.

Since the last two years, 40 year old Larry Page has been working as Google’s co-founder and CEO. He admitted that about 14 years ago he had come down with a severe cold that had paralyzed his left vocal cord, but Google way back then had been in its nascent stages. Another cold attack last year had affected his right vocal cord as well. There is a mild movement noticed in his right cord as yet he states.

The agitated investors

Remember Apple’s blow when they withheld details on Steve Jobs’ health condition? Jobs who had been suffering from cancer, had taken two leaves of absence and then laid down the baton from Apple’s CEO about 6 weeks prior to his death.

So Page’s absence from the meet had scared the daylights out of the investors. They feared that his illness may come in the way of his performance. Page had come back into action in October and had set the agitated Wall Street worries to rest. He had carried on with a robotic and raspy sounded voice.
Confirmation by Page

It was a relief to see Larry Page write “Thankfully, after some initial recovery I'm fully able to do all I need to at home and at work, though my voice is softer than before.” He further wrote “giving long monologues is more tedious for me and probably the audience.”

The reason for the hobbled vocal cords still needs to be diagnosed, says Page. Page had been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis in 2003, the doctors fear that this maybe the reason for the condition of his vocal chords.

Page was heard stating about his medical condition that it is “fairly common benign inflammatory condition of the thyroid which causes me no problems.’ It’s not only his vocal cords that are influenced as “Vocal cord nerve issues can also affect your breathing, so my ability to exercise at peak aerobic capacity is somewhat reduced,'' wrote Page “That said, my friends still think I have way more stamina than them when we go kite surfing.”He zestfully commented. It’s a sad thing that Page has to undergo these health hassles that are very uncommon and extremely rare.

It’s suspense about the way the next major conference event planned by Google is going to go! There is a drastic change in the interface between bank and customer after advent of modern machines & growing demand of E-commerce.

Think of any banking service from cash withdrawal to ordering cheque book, everything is possible at the click of a mouse. But banks too have changed from operation centric to client centric.

More people are now shifting to alternative delivery channels, which account for nearly 30-40 percent of customers at present. Over the next couple of years count would be around 70-80 percent, says TM Bhasin, Chairman & managing director, Indian Bank.

Chanda Kochhar, CMD and CEO of ICICI bank has also revealed that ICICI has seen a big leap in transactions which are happening outside the branches.

Usage Of ATM
ATM, which is the oldest of the alternate delivery channels, enjoys the highest level of accord of customers. The number of counters of ATMs machines is rising exponentially. Currently there are more than 10,00,000 ATMs pan India. ATMs today are no longer only money dispensing machines. These are capable to provide enhanced services to their customers like fixed deposits, cheque book request & many more.

Trend In India

Though in India people rely more on cheque payments rather than online transfer, but the value of cheque based transactions has been on a gradual decline. Mobile transactions, particularly the non-financial ones, are the most preferred one due to low cost, but the use of mobile banking services is still low. Not to forget cash payments are still considered the safest among Indian population.

There are also cost benefits attached with advancement of E-commerce. The cost of servicing a customer is the highest at a branch followed by ATMs, online banking, and mobile phones. Also the cost incurred in setting up a new branch is high which can be narrowed down by advancement of E-commerce.

"There is a tendency to discourage customers from visiting branches since it adds to the cost of the bank and is also inconvenient for customers. Moving to alternative channels is a win-win for both sides," says Indian Bank's Bhasin.

Constraint in advancement of E-commerce

However, modern electronic payment systems are still concentrated in metros and large towns (tier-I and II locations). A large chunk of the Indian population still does not have access to formal banking channels, let alone the newer alternatives. The most important question however, is if you should lease a car or splurge the money on a new one.

This very important question can be answered by yourself. Do a reality check or say self analyzation of your funds, life style, and the expenditure. Then take the right step depending on your requirements. While there would be some who would suggest you to buy a new one rather than paying lease, a surprise for some of us, lease is the most wonderful thing that can happen.

Let's check out the positives and negatives of both to help you decide better what to do next.

Purchasing a new car Scribbling your name as owner of the car has its own joy and advantages. You can do whatever you want to do with it. You can color it your way, your stereo, interiors etc. To top everything else, certain car models have a good resale value, given in good condition.

You can always sell it to the dealers who buy used beaters and then pass them off to buyers at a price higher than they have bought it from you. They are available in abundance so anytime you want to break free you can do so.

However, if you buy a used car, it's good to just move around the town or you want to own a certain vehicle for a year or two. But if you want it for the long run than better pay attention to the details and cross check the motor parts as a broken car cost you much money than you have brought it forward while you use it. Plus, you like it or not, there will always be hassles regarding the trading of an old or used car.

Some would think it wise to purchase a brand new vehicle, even if they need to take an auto loan. After calculating the auto loan interest you can decide whether you would like to go for a brand new car or a lease return. Think about new car only if you are buying it for the long run and if you care to ignore the depreciation value of your vehicle.

Buying a lease return will not only reduce the depreciation value, you may get a warranty handy! And being the proud owner of your car, you can jazz it up in your own style! Drive as long and anywhere you want it, sell it anytime you want it.

But, sorry to burst the bubble, be wary of the responsibilities, maintenance expenses.

Lease a car Leasing a car means putting barriers to yourself. While it has certain disadvantages there are some hidden benefits as well. First you can not drive it anywhere you want, after designated miles you might be penalized for it and you cannot make major changes in the car. But leasing a car means that you will get to drive a flashy new vehicle than you could not have bought by paying principal and interest.

In leasing process, you make a down payment and then there are monthly installments for the period for the time vehicle is leased to you. You can return the car once the lease is up. Or, under some agreements, there is a provision for you where you can buy the particular car with what you have already paid plus the amount pending for the total payment.

Leasing is a great option for people who want to drive a new vehicle every 2-3 years. Besides, your cash is safe in your pocket as you don't have to spend much on the maintenance.

If you are done driving and crave for something new, it's not your job to hassle yourself with the potential buyer. In fact, your dealer will have to deal with its own.

Make a smart choice Make a smart choice between what you want and what you need. If you have a flair for new cars and don't want the headache of maintenance, leasing is the best option for you. People who are frequently on road trips or have to drive for long distances, find leasing more suitable as later they can always come back to the dealer for the repairs!

To choose between leasing and owning a car:

1.
