Dr. Gadget finds that the HTC Droid DNA is the best Droid ever for its excellent features, a long battery life and plethora of impressive features. Here is a detailed review.
The HTC Droid DNA is powered by a blazingly fast quad-core processor and sports a monstrous 5-inch screen and a great, 8MP camera. Its extra-long battery life puts most of its competitors to shame. However, the lack of a removable battery and SD card is disappointing.
The HTC Droid DNA measures 5.6 x 2.7 x 0.38 inches, but its large puts it at a disadvantage at times. Although its design is impressive, it might not be the best-looking phone in the market. The slick phone appears even better than the Samsung Galaxy SIII at times.
The HTC Droid DNA features a 2-MP front camera and 8-MP rear camera. Shooting a 1080p HD video with the front camera is fun. The phone also comes with a LED flash, which is great. The colors are vibrant, images are crisp clear and lively and videos play with terrific quality.
The HTC Droid DNA uses Android Jelly Bean OS as the base and places its Sensor 4+ technology on the top of it to change the look and feel of the OS. The main screen houses the HTC’s flagship clock widget, Google Play icon, web browser and Verizon voice mail (on Verizon only). Since it is Android, you will have access to hoards of Android apps.
Performance is essentially the USP of the HTC Droid DNA. The combination of a powerful 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB RAM is a formidable one, and makes the phone run like breeze.
Overall, HTC has packed a punch with its Droid DNA, something it was trying for a while now. At $199, it gives the likes of Samsung Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note 2 a tough run for their money. Dr. Gadget feels it pretty safe to announce it as the best Droid phone ever.
