Apple rumored to unveil 2 iPads soon

With its new iPads Apple may offer strong competition to the Amazon Kindle, which could be a concern for Amazon.

Rumors are rife that Apple is gearing to unveil its two iPads soon.

The dates are not known yet, but Apple could unveil its new iPads in mid-January, or Feb. 24, which is Steve Jobs' birthday, or in March, the month when Apple rolled out its iPad 2.

According to the reports, Apple’s new iPads will feature faster processors to offer faster browsing.

Also, iPads will come with sharper screens with better resolution of 1536x2048.

They are expected to be priced around $200 to help Apple competes with the Amazon Kindle Fire which is priced $199.

The devices might be identical in many areas but, the basic difference between the two iPads will be camera. One model will be fixed with 8-megapixel camera and the other with 5-megapixel camera.

It is rumored that Apple has also added a virtual assistance voice control feature to its iPads.

Expected price
If rumors are to be believed, both the tablets will be priced differently.

They are expected to be priced around $200 to help Apple competes with the Amazon Kindle Fire which is priced $199.

Effect on rivals
With its new iPads Apple may offer strong competition to the Amazon Kindle, which could be a concern for Amazon.

However, Richard Shim, an analyst at DisplaySearch, told CNET, “They don't want to create any hint of a second-class product. They have no reason. They're selling as many as they can make. And this next-generation device is going to reinforce that supply-demand dynamic.”
