State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance said Robert Craig, 52, of Killingworth tumbled from his car Tuesday morning near exit 10 on the southbound side of Interstate 95, the Stamford Advocate reported Wednesday.
Vance said Craig was not seriously injured but suffered abrasions to his head, face, arms, legs and abdomen. He was taken to Stamford Hospital to receive treatment and a psychiatric evaluation.
A hospital spokesman said Craig remained under supervision late Tuesday.
Vance said police have not yet determined the cause of Craig's fall. He said the motorist's 2006 Dodge Charger continued to drive unoccupied for about a fifth of a mile before striking a light pole and a metal guard rail.
