IPOs: Avoid sordid aspect

Submitted by BestMoney on Sun, 11/26/2006 - 22:52 ::

The IPO market is hot now and it is easy for dubious issues to slip through. It is a well known fact that most investors simply read advertisements, seek advice from friends and brokers and put in their applications for subscriptions. This can be really injurious to ones’ financial health.

The intermediaries may neither have the expertise, nor the inclination to show the investors what lies beneth the glib advertisements and the upbeat media coverage. Reliance on these sources alone for advice and action may prove costly.

It is suggested that one should look at the IPO grading. This saves the investors from dubious decisions of their fund managers. Needless to say, one would not invest in an issue that gets a grading of one or two out of five.

Find out the owner of a phone number?

Does anyone know of a way to find out the owner of a cell phone if you know their number? I see many sites for reverse lookups for cell phones but they charge almost 100 bucks.

All of the free reverse phone number sites have a fee after you put in the phone number. Anywho.com or whitepages.com or any of that stuff does not work since you have to pay to get a report.

Are there any ACTUAL free ones out there?
