Julio Iglesias weds longtime sweetheart in private ceremony

The Grammy award winning singer first disclosed his marriage news to a Dutch newspaper. Later Iglesias even took to his Twitter account confirming the marriage reports.

Spanish singer Julio Iglesias is officially off the market! The 66-year-old singer married his longtime sweetheart Miranda Rijnsburger Tuesday, after nearly 20 years of togetherness.

Iglesias and Dutch model Rijnsburger 45, who met in Indonesia in 1990, tied the knot in a private ceremony that took place in the parish of Virgin del Carmen of Marbella.

After the marriage ceremony, a thanksgiving mass was held in their private chapel the same day.

Announcing the happy news to his fans, 'To All the Girls I've Loved Before' singer tweeted Thursday, “Dear friends, Miranda and I got married on August 24th, in a private ceremony in Marbella (Spain), with our five children present.”

The couple has three sons, Miguel,12; Rodrigo, 11; Guillermo, 3; and twin daughters Victoria and Cristina, who are 9-years-old.

This is second marriage for Iglesias, who wed Isabel Preysler Arrastria in 1971. The couple, whose marriage lasted just 7 years have three children, Chabeli" María Isabe, 39; Julio José 37, and Enrique Miguel, 35.

Fans congratulate couple
Immediately after the 'My Love' singer confirmed the wedding report, Iglesias' fans took to online blogs and forums wishing the duo a happy married life.

For instance a fan named alicia on popeater.com congratulated the newly wed, adding that the couple has a beautiful family.

Likewise another fan named ebonii commented on the same site, “We should just be happy for them and celebrate the longevity of their relationship...Nowadays more couples get divorced than those who stay married.”
