Melissa and her professional dancing partner, Mark Ballas, were eliminated after a low score on Monday's show, while Vito and his partner, Chelsie Hightower, lost in a dance-off with Irvin and his partner, Anna Demidova, according to the Associated Press.
Dramatic double elimination
On Tuesday's elimination episode, the show hosts first revealed the names of celebrities who were in the bottom three- Louie Vito, Michael Irvin, and Melissa Joan Hart- based on their Monday's performances.
This meant that one of the three couples would flat-out go home, while the two others would perform against each other in the dance-off.
Melissa got no chance to save herself
The lowest-scoring couple, Melissa and Mark, went home without even a dance-off, leaving Louie and retired NFL star Michael Irvin to face each other to stay in the competition.
Melissa and her partner were eliminated after a low score on Monday's show. Melissa, who got the boot after racking up only 24 points on Monday, said, "That's the game."
The actress, who starred on "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," admitted: "It's tough. I was hoping to make it one more week."
Louie got a chance, but lost
Louie was eliminated after getting defeated in the dance-off against Irvin, the Hall of Fame receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, and his partner Anna Demidova.
Louie said after learning his fate: "This is a lot harder than it looks. Everyday I got out there and danced. I was proud of myself for just getting out there."

The exit of both Melissa and Louie has narrowed the field down to seven dancers.
