New York, October 25 -- The breast cancer month is drawing to an end and health professionals want women to educate themselves about the disease, its causes, and how to prevent it.

With the year coming to a close, nearly 190,000 women in the nation are expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in the nation. Of all the forms of cancers, breast cancer is the most common form of disease reported among women.

The data by the American Cancer Society's Ohio Cancer Facts and Figures 2009 has reflected a serious increase in the number of women affected by this disease. As a result health professionals have been crying out for awareness.

Breast cancer awareness events
The month of October has featured many events educating people about one of the most fatal form of cancer. These included run and walk events to raise money. The most popular among them was the Canadian Run for the Cure.

Even the professional sports leagues like the National Football League (NFL) are contributing their bit to increase awareness. The NFL games in the month feature players, coaches and referees wearing pink game apparel to raise awareness for the campaign.

All apparel worn at games by players and coaches and special K-balls and pink coins will be auctioned at NFL Auction with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society and team charities.

Further, a breast cancer awareness group named Linked By Pink Partners organization is soon going to launch a calendar for the year 2010.

The calendar will not only create awareness about the disease but also feature pictures and first-person accounts, where people will share their stories of courage to inspire others suffering from the disease.

Causes and prevention of breast cancer
As this week marks the last of breast cancer awareness month, make sure you are aware about the cause, and prevention of the disease.

Currently, research is going on to understand if lifestyle factors like weight gain, loss affect breast cancer risk. The factors that have been suspected to cause this disease could include lack of sunshine, high fatty food intake, low exercise, emotional stress, alcohol, drugs, smoking, family history, etc.

Further, studies have also revealed that drugs like tamoxifen and raloxifene may reduce breast cancer risk in women.

In order to prevent the disease from becoming fatal, it is important to conduct screening on regular intervals.

Breast Cancer diagnosis and treatment...

As more research and data is appearing, it is apparent that many conventional diagnosis procedures are inaccurate in way too many cases, sometimes leading to unnecessary and/or highly invasive procedures that do more harm than good. Look at the facts. http://www.BreastHealing.info

By the way numerous "Breast Cancer Awareness" programs are run, it is apparent they are based on raising more money, yet not finding a "cure". Just realize this is a business, and one cancer diagnosis often leads to expenditures of $300,000 up to over $1million, depending on "severity" of medical procedure. This often leads to depleted insurance plans, bank accounts, etc. Yet who wins in these cases?

There are no "legal cures for cancer". Just like humans, there are way too many variations to ever pinpoint totally accurate diagnosis. Yet healing begins when we understand our bodies better. Extensive research has proven that simply leading a more holistic, purely natural and "drug / chemical free" lifestyle has often led to "reversal of symptoms" and/or "total remission" when followed by valid professional standards. http://www.HealingNews.com

CANCER

Databases such as Medline and Pubmed contain more than sixty articles on the remarkable anticancer properties of antidepressants. Antidepressants kill cancer cells, inhibit their proliferation, convert multidrug resistant cells to sensitive, protect nonmalignant cells from damage by ionizing radiation and chemotherapy toxicity, and target the mitochondria of cancer cells, while sparing those of health ones. Antidepressants can arrest tumors even in advanced stages, occasionally eradicate them, and significantly extend life. Depression significantly increases the risk of cancer, and of dying of it.
