Washintgton -- The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Perfect Flame gas grills due to risk of fires and burns.

About 663,000 Perfect Flame SLG Series Gas Grills were sold in the United States and about 1,700 in Canada. They were manufactured by Lucas Innovation Inc. in China and imported by L.G. Sourcing Inc. of North Wilkesboro, N.C.

The burners can deteriorate, causing irregular flames and a possibility of igniting a fire, the commission said.

The company has received numerous reports of fires, including 21 incidents of minor burns.

The recall involves SLG series Perfect Flame brand stainless steel and painted black or gray outdoor grills.

Consumers were advised to stop using the grills and contact L.G. Sourcing to receive free replacement burners. Some consumers, depending on what model they own, will receive replacement lids, as well, the commission said.

Consumers can call 888-840-9590 for information.
