Montreal -- An Internet company in Montreal is pushing its meditation software as a tool to help ward off the H1N1 flu virus.

PeacefulLife.ca kicked off its H1N1 Immune System Primer Meditation program Wednesday.

The company emphatically states in its release that while meditation cannot prevent someone from getting the virus originally called swine flu, its $4.97 downloadable product could boost users' immune systems.

"Meditation puts the body in a deep state of relaxation and creates the ideal circumstances for the immune system to function at its optimal level," the release said. "In turn, an optimized immune system is an excellent defense against viruses."

Company founder Jackie Roberge says there is increasing medical research to suggest regular meditation can lead to health benefits.

"I have personally experienced the immune strengthening benefits of meditation, she wrote. "Furthermore, meditation has zero negative side effects and will likely produce an immediate sense of relaxation and peacefulness."
